The American Indian Council (AIC) at Arizona State University is one of the seven minority student coalitions that serves as an umbrella group for the American Indian student organizations. The American Indian Council facilitates and supports all American Indian organizations on campus. Currently, there are seven American Indian organizations. The student organizations include: American Indian Science and Engineering Society, Ms. Indian ASU Pageant Committee, Native American Business Organization, Native American Law Student Association, Native Americans Taking Initiative on Success, Phi Sigma Nu and Alpha Pi Omega Sorority. In addition to providing support, the American Indian Council serves as a financial resource for organization events. The American Indian Council formally oversees its funding and enables organizations to present funding proposals to the Council. Events include the American Indian Culture Week, the Ms. Indian ASU Pageant, Native American Day and other events that advocate cultural diversity on campus and off campus with the Native American community in the Phoenix Metropolitan area.
